BitCast™ is comprised of patented innovations designed to solve problems affecting delivery and application performance. It starts with the elimination of routing and processing overhead – an improvement that can lead to 4-20X improvements in application responsiveness.

Performance
BitGravity is optimized from end to end. Our entire network is based on 10 Gigabit-Per-Second connectivity, which allows us to increase packet sizes and data per stream and removes throughput bottlenecks that exist with other providers. We have leveraged open protocols and combined them with to our own proprietary protocols where it makes sense. We innovate on top of the existing public infrastructure so that no special clients or servers are required by our customers. The net result is high performance at the routing level, nodes, and within the WAN.

Network Efficiency
Using the number of nodes in your network as performance indicator is an outdated concept. It provides no performance advantage but carries a high capital cost that's passed along to customers. BitGravity's dense computing architecture and advantages in backbone routing allow us to deliver better performance from fewer locations at a lower cost. Consequently, on a per-CPU basis we are able to spend more management and engineering time on development and support than would be possible with a highly distributed network.

Transparency
Whenever we build new technology, we work to maintain a small footprint so that we don't interfere with how our customers want to operate. For example, today's internet operates over HTTP, so all of BitGravity's products transport over HTTP. This means that we follow industry standards without requiring any client downloads or special coding that could impact the end-user experience. Interoperability with Windows Media, Flash, and Quicktime – standards around which you have built your current infrastructure – is a requirement in everything we do.

Stability
BitGravity is the world's first origin-based CDN and was designed to provide the highest performance, but with the mission critical reliability you require. We don't rely on a proxy-based system. This enables us to provide replicated redundancy within our nodes and across our nodes. Our architecture anticipates failure within the system and handles it without affecting the overall system's ability to deliver your files. Our origin-based system is not dependent upon caching architecture, which adds overhead and diminishes consistent quality of service. Consequently, we are bold enough to provide a 100% SLA; not because we treat it lightly, but because it is architecturally possible.

Cost
With BitGravity, our efficiency drives not just performance advantages, but cost savings as well. Our proprietary computing architecture and more efficient processing lead to savings in colo facilities and power, issues which are becoming more pressing as space in the best facilities becomes increasingly scarce. We are also a preferable customer for Tier1 carriers; the efficiency inherent in our architecture also saves the carriers money and we leverage that to improve both our performance and cost structure.
