BG Secure™
BG Secure is a suite of products that offers Internet media properties the ability to protect their copyrighted content from the growing number of pirating technologies without disruption to the customer experience.
Technologies that enable users to copy files and streams from the Internet without permission have become readily available, making it difficult for media companies to prevent the theft and posting of their property on Web sites. Progressive downloads and streaming media are susceptible to pirating with tools that are free on the Internet and require a single click of the mouse to copy content. Ripping technologies either pull content from cache or tap in and copy streams.
The products within BG Secure eliminate content caching, prevent the copying of streams, and limit access to content. BG Secure is available with BitGravity’s core content delivery service, BG Content Delivery.
- StreamGuard™
For companies that stream audio and video in Flash, StreamGuard is a patent-pending technology that keeps streams from being saved to and retrieved from user’s hard drives. With StreamGuard, streams are broken into overlapping pieces and the player reassembles the pieces for seamless playback.
There are no special downloads required of users and the standardized protocol works over HTTP and through firewalls. No extra hardware or encoding are required. StreamGuard is built into BitGravity’s Flash V player and for companies that have their own Flash players, client code is available for integration.
- SecureAccess™
SecureAccess limits users' access to content based on expiry
time, geo blocking, IP address, URL, browser type, cookies, and any other parameters clients want to address. Unlike other solutions, each SecureAccess client gets multiple unique keys for maximum protection.
- CacheControl™
CacheControl ensures that all content or specific content types are not cached on users’ hard drives. CacheControl for video-related Web sites, works with all media players.
